So, what better way to end the summer than with a new script?!
Whoa, first bit of creative writing in over 4 months! What’s going on?!
10 plays, 3 short story, collected in over 350 pages! Year One, a compilation of all my 2013 plays!
A really stupid story with really stupid characters, with some really stupid dialogue and really stupid consequences…
Hey I wrote a super short play for the Pint-Sized Plays Writing Competition 2014!
So here’s T-Minus, my first attempt at an original sci-fi script. Whilst certainly quite rocky in some places (it is a first draft!) I hope you can enjoy it!
In the year 2028, scientists predicted that a massive solar flare would take place in 2142, pretty much wiping out the human population. To counteract this, they developed pods that could harness the solar radiation and launch into outer space. The pods would then travel to Mars, where humanity would start afresh. The play takes place in 2142, and starts with Earth’s final hour. We focus on one particular pod filled with people from many different classes. Tensions are high and the pressure is mounting as the countdown brings them ever closer to the end of the world.
Wahey! Script number 8! This is a script about the loneliest girl in the world. All her life she’s lived in darkness, never knowing love or friendship. However, one simple event changes her life forever. I wrote this play to practice my chorus/narration writing skills, as well as multi-media techniques. It’s also really surreal, so just roll with it. Plus, it heavily features orchestrated video-game music, so there’s that. Have fun!
My attempt at a Gothic play, my 7th play has plenty of nods to classic Gothic characters like Faustus and Frankenstein. Zachary Pinkman is a scientist out to unlock the secrets of the arcane, but just how far will he go? How much has he lost, and much more is he willing to lose? Also, it has dialogue from Breaking Bad, so that’s always cool.
My 4th original play, and my 6th one overall, Father & Son deals with the loss of a family member, albeit one that is not liked very well. Add in a healthy dose of the paranormal, and you get a tragic tale of love and regret.
